Yesterday I had a pile of updates from U No Hu and the result is weird.

I open Explorer and all looks ok. Next time I open one it shows no files
and the folders empty.

Has Micro**** screwed up my computer???

TIA

Just discovered the solution - too many copies of Explorer were open.

How many is too many? I frequently have 15-20 instances running at
once.

I can't say how many is too many for the OS, but 15-20 is a
*LOT* of Explorer windows to have open at once for a user to
manage effectively.

I never even have 15 programs open at once (not counting whats
running in the tray), let alone 15 instances of the same
program.

Heh. True, I never do that in Windows because it craps out very quickly. In
other OSes, however, it's not a problem.

Maybe your computer just sucks, and can't handle it. On another note,
you're right about it not being a signture - it's a signature.

You're very clever. I never notices that intentional typo!

Oh wait.
