Win7 Home 64 bit. The window into which you could enter a search term
(e.g. file name) in windows explorer has vanished. How can I get it back?

Thanks!

Are you saying you don't see it up there in the upper right corner of
the Windows Explorer window, just under the Minimize button?

I was thinking of selling him one that I've got spare.
But then I found this;
Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features
on of off > tick the "Windows Search" box.

Cheers, Ed

Your answer is better than mine, but I had to get the preliminaries
out of the way first.

That is the search window I'm referring to. When I started the PC
today, the search window is present now. I checked the control panel
setting & it was selected. Weird. If it happens again, I'll check the
setting 1st.

Thanks
