Does W7 use Windows Product Activation database files wpa.dbl and Wpa.bak

You click on "Activate Now" when there's a pop-up at the lower right
corner, you must be connected to the internet; if not you can activate by
phone by following the instructions on the screen.

No idea, but there are never any WPA update patches anymore in Win 7. So
likely the activation is kept within Microsoft's own fortress now.

It's called WAT now instead of WPA, which I think stands for Windows
Activation Technology. Interestingly, it's easier than ever to bypass
activation in Win 7 than in previous MS OSs. You'd think they would
have made it harder.

Not when they need to try to maintain market share more now than ever
before like MS does.
