"VMWARE 7 on Windows 7" why run at 32 bit ?

I'm new in the forum and I use windows 7 only by 2 weeks ...
I use to work some virtual machine and I installed vmware 7.0 to speed up my work using 64 bit application in Windows 7.

But ... vmware.exe in processes list run in 32 bit mode (*32) and when I try to assign 4 cores in the settings of virtual machine vmware tell me that I can use only 2 cores.

My pc is a Hp notebook dv8 i7 processor.
My windows is Home Premium 64 bit.

Help me please.
