Unwanted items in context menu

Today I used Nirsoft's ShellMenuView and ShellExView to clean up some
unwanted items from my right-click menus for folders. But there are
two that it can't find, and I can't even find them in Regedit:

Acronis Recovery
Include in Nonstop Backup

Neither one has an accelerator key (underlined letter), so it's not a
matter of finding a string with an & in it.

Where else could those context entries coming from, if they're not
listed in the Registry?

(This is Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.)

Maybe they are settings controlled from within whatever Acronis product you
have installed? If I was to hazard a guess, I would say True Image of some
flavor, but it may be one of their other products.

You seem to have hit it on the head. In Acronis True Image 2011, when
I go to Help -> Settings -> Integrate True Image into Windows and then
deselect "Shortcut Menu Operations", the two items Stan listed above
disappear from the context menu. (The Acronis Recovery tab can also be
removed from a file Properties window here.)

Stan, does it also work for you?

It is indeed True Image, but if there's any way to control those
settings I've been unable to find it. (I apologize: I meant to
mention that in my original article, but got distracted and forgot.)

But regardless of how Acronis put those items into the right-click
menu for a folder, they're there now so Windows has to know about
them. If they're not in the Registry, where are they?

It's not just Acronis. I have the Vim editor, and on every file type
there's a right-click item of "Edit with Vim". I actually want that
there, but hoping to get a clue to the unwanted entries I went
looking for this one and couldn't find it either. The V of Vim is
underlined, so I searched both for "Edit with Vim" and "Edit with
&Vim".

Very puzzling!

Thanks, Char. I confess that it never occurred to me to look for
settings under Help, but your solution does indeed work for me.

But I would really like to know what was going on "under the hood".
Where were those context items stored so that Windows included them
in the right-click menu?

To find out what's been written by programs I use a
small free app called System Explorer.

There are lots of useful features, but to monitor file and registry changes
you use the Tools > Snapshot section.
Have Acronis already open.
Start System Explorer and go to Tools> Snapshot.
In the Snapshot window enter a name, say Acronis1, and select Files+Registry.
Then Create Snapshot.
Then change your Acronis settings, and check that they have taken.
Then enter a new name, say Acronis2, and Create Snapshot.
Select the two snapshots and Compare Snapshots.
Now you should be able to see what Acronis is doing in the background.

Since you didn't mention which version of ATI you're using it's hard to
say. But in ATI 2011 click on Help - Settings - Integrate True Image
Into Windows and there you'll find 3 lines with check boxes, if you
clear all three then those lines will disappear from your context menus.
