Turning off ALL taskbar alerts

Win7 64 bit home premium in an i7 build. I keep the taskbar hidden & I
don't want it to EVER appear if I don't request it with the win key or
mouseover, and frankly I could do without the latter. I have all the
items set to "Hide icon and notifications" under "customize". I still
get the thing popping up periodically to "tell me" something. It did
this with a WE window a moment ago, even though WE is set to "Hide icon
and notifications". In the 2 years I've run this OS, not one single
time has the "alert been anything but a FF window that has been sitting
on Google for 2 hours, or some WE window which has been displaying the
same, unchanged folder for the last 3 hours. Often, the bar itself will
just pop up, with no particular button "pulsing", so I'll have to close
10 or so open pages one by one until I get to the one that "needed me".
Which, once again, will be of no importance at all. Is there some way
I can just get this miserable thing to get out of my face? I really
can't stand the &^$#^* thing.

Have you turned off all alerts/messages in the Action Center?

Bobby - The only settings checked under "Turn messages on or off" are
firewall & virus, & I've never had them pop up. "Choose when to be
notified about changes to your computer" is set at never. Are there any
other settings there which might effect this?

I just had this happen again, and had to close over a dozen windows one
by one before I got to the program which had made the taskbar pop up so
the damned thing would re-hide. Please see my original message, just
below. And OF COURSE, it was just TBird sitting there with NOTHING
happening. Not even so much as a new email. This is SUCH a PITA! Does
NO ONE ELSE have this happen? There MUST be a way to get this GD thing
to quit doing this??????

I wonder how many of us are looking at you somewhat oddly, wondering
what exactly you want to accomplish by getting the taskbar to hide
100% of the time. :-)

I don't really mean to make light of your predicament, but it seems
that you're quite bothered by something that most of us wouldn't think
is a bother at all. I hope you find a solution that meets your needs,
even if it's as simple as taping a piece of cardboard across the edge
of your monitor.

Don't forget also grabbing three felt-tip pens (R, G, B) to extend the
contents of the screen onto that strip of cardboard...

Of course, but my poetic license[1] has recently been renewed for four
years.

In the context of monitors it seemed OK to stick with additive color for
the sake of a (perhaps bad & probably mean) joke.

[1] Are you in the UK? I'll say licence, in that case - and colour as
well.

I am experiencing the same frustrating taskbar problem. I need to have the taskbar hidden at all times unless I need it, in which case I want to be able to make it reappear with one or two keystrokes.
