My inbox keeps emptying itself and I can't figure out why, anyone
familiar with TB?

When you say "emptying itself" what exactly do you mean?

Check in Tools>Account Settings and under your email account look at
Disk Space. Make sure you have Don't Delete Any Messages checked. Also
make sure that the messages stay on the server until you delete them.
You can work back from there to see where the problem is.

Another possibility might be that he has TB set to "View only Unread",
so as he reads each email it disappears from view.

The best place to get TB information is at the Mozilla T'Bird newsgroup.

Server: news.mozilla.org
Group: mozilla.support.thunderbird

Thanks for the replies.
Have discovered that it's something to do with the way TB & Mailwasher
interact though I don't know how to fix it.
TB apparently downloads wanted messages to my Inbox but they still show
in MW. When I then try to delete them from MW it also deletes them from
my Inbox.
Have never had a problem with Mailwasher & OE or MW & WLM.
Will try reinstalling MW and if it doesn't fix it will go back to WLM.
Does anyone know of a free alternative to MW?

I don't use any spam filters myself (I don't get spam), but there is a
list of free filters here:

I used Mailwasher Pro for years and years along with TB and never had
a problem. For the past 3 years have not used MW and have found that
between ATT/Yahoo and TB everything is removed -- it only took a short
while to train TB to the spam, but you have to start marking spam as
junk (highlight a msg and click "J"), then after it goes to the junk
folder you can delete it with shift/delete to bypass the trash folder
-- oh, before you delete it from TB go into ATT/Yahoo or whoever you
are using for an ISP and mark it as spam.
