Windows Updates Install Shut Down/Start Up Problem

I turn my pc off daily and for the past week every time I do there are updates to install and when I restart in the morning, I get "Configuring Windows Updates" that takes 5+ minutes before it even boots. It's as if it is repeatedly trying to do the same updates unsuccessfully.

The morning wait is quite a bother. Any ideas what's going on and what to do?

Thanks

Run Windows Update manually and let it do it's thing, then if it asks to reboot let it and then see how it all works out.

Do ALL updates and you should be okay.

Yep. Let it install them all.

I installed a few updates yesterday - had to reboot. Then it gave me more updates - reboot again. More updates - had to reboot.

Meh. Microsoft seems to have been making loads of updates lately.
What a relief it was to see the the "No updates are available" screen :D
