USB installation?

HI guys, first time build. I d/l the usb boot program and also d/l the Win 7-64 bit iso file to another usb. can I installed windows this way, or does it only work from a CD? I have product key from my net book and hoping to use it on my desktop with new MOBO and CPU. can someone tell once I get the usb program opened, what should I look for? Thanks

First off, it is not legal to take the key that came with your netbook and move it to a new computer; OEM keys are not transferable.

If you want to install from a USB Flash Drive then you need to create a bootable USB Flash drive, using the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool, it will format and load the ISO on a bootable 4GB or larger flash drive.
