usb device discovery

Can anyone tell me how to programmatically discover which USB devices are connected to a system and the specific information for that device?

Control Panel > Device Manager

View > Devices by Type
Expand "Universal Serial Bus Controllers"
You will see some devices, such as printers and cameras, as well as the hubs/controllers of your USB slots

View > Devices by connection
Expand "UMBus Root Bus Enumerator"
Expand "UMBus Enumerator"
and you will see attached memory cards / flash drives
