Please insert a disc message shows

Whenever i try and insert a disc & click the dvd drive, it says "Please insert a disc into drive F:". It started happening after that when I once insert a burn disc. Now it dose not works for any DVD/CDs . The disc which play normally before also not playing . Also i tried with different discs but same result. Please tell me what can be the issue. I can read different driver CDs & DVDs (autorun discs). The hardware is fine i checked that too.
