Try saving this code as a reg file and merging it into your registry.
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Options]
"NoReReg"=dword:00000001
14.0 is Office 2010
12.0 is Office 2007

Attached is a zip file containing two .reg files. One for Office '07, t'other for Office '10.
Create a restore point first. Double click whichever .reg file you want to merge. Click yes to the warning message that you want to continue, then OK on the next pop up window.

To save a .txt file as a .reg file
When saving the text file, from the menu select File >> Save As... Change the Save as Type: to All Files (*). Then enter your file name with the .reg file extension.
