Hi friends, Recently I have installed/Activated Windows 7 Ultimate on my system (Intel D946GZIS mother board, Intel P-IV CPU - 3.0 GHZ, Video (Enabled) Intel(R) ExtremeGraphics3 Controller, Sound (Enabled) Intel(R) Azalia Audio Device, Memory- 2 GB). Since then windows 7 has stopped to show my microphone. In sounds controls (recording devices) it shows my mic grey and says that it's not plugged in, while it is. so, I cannot use my microphone. Regarding update KB974431, it is not meant for ny system as said by Microsoft update site.could anyone please help? thanks in advance.

Hi Nature25

Update KB974431 > Here is a reliability update, can you expand on how this affects your microphone ? and have you checked your sound settings.

Hi Nature25

Can you check your updates as you may already have this update in part and it has not installed correct. and check Recording in Sound / Control panel for your microphone have you configured it ?

Edit - i have headphone and mic jacks on my speakers, i just plugged a mic in and Windows 7 Pro dont see it, have you got your mic plugged in direct (back of your PC) ?
