mass effect cofiguration

I just got this computer and am not very savy. My problem is, I installed mass effect (value eddition) but am unable to play because it wont confingure due to incompatayibility issues. I have mass effect 2 installed and it plays great, so what am missing here ?

Do you have an exact error message? Of if there's no error message, can you describe the problem please? I'm sure we can get this working for you!

BTW, is Mass Effect fully patched?

Windows diagnosed and suggested downloading a patch to make tje game more compatible with windows 7. It's working now (though not quite as smoothly as I would like). Thanks
