SOLVED Is it Legal to Put Desktop Win 7 on Your Notebook

Win 7 is the desktop os. Can a copy be put on a new notebook and be legal?

No, you must have a license for EACH computer. If you have the Full version of Windows 7 on your Desktop PC and you plan to retire it then you can move that license to the notebook but you cannot move OEM or upgrade versions of Windows 7. And you definitely cannot have the same license installed on two working machines.
