Hi,
We have two PCs at home both running Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 3.30 gigahertz Intel Core i3-3220, 64 kilobyte primary memory cache, 512 kilobyte secondary memory cache, 3072 kilobyte tertiary memory cache. Both gave the same board, Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z77-D3H and are using the onboard LAN, Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20). Both these PCs were built at a local shop. We are on Plusnet Fibre Broadband with a Technicolour TG 582n router. One PC has a download speed of 36Mbps whilst the other has a maximum of about 18Mbps. I have tried both machines alone using the same cable and router socket with the same speed difference on the one computer. I have also tried a PCI LAN card but still the same slow speed.
Any ideas as to what could be causing the problem.
Thanks,
Gerald
