As an example of my problem, in Windows XP paint, if I wanted to make a large map by pasting together several smaller ones, all I had to do was fix the size of the canvas so it was bigger than needed then paste the smaller maps onto it one at a time, sliding each one into position.
My problem is how do I do this sort of thing on Windows 7 where paint seems to automatically fix the size of the canvas to the size of any image pasted to it.
What I do not want to do is open paint only to find the canvas the size of the last image and have to go through the process of resizing it.
