Hello.
I was updating my drivers, and it appeared as 6770 HD (rebadge as 5770, it is the same driver).
Nothing opened (appls/games cannot load nor open, only Chrome opened) after I restarted the tower.
It seems I can't update my display card drivers. -- First time I updated using device manager. Device manager recognizes as 6770 HD (which should be normal, since it;s the same as 5770), and again, nothing opened nor worked.
Second time, I was updating the drivers through the manufacturer site. Again, it somehow update to 6770 drivers (in device manager it said 6770), and nothing worked after restart.
Third time, I use windows update to update my display drivers. And the same thing happened previously.

* I revert it back by going to manufacturer site and downloading the catalyst which automatically detected the drivers and installed them, but it did not update the driver itself.
So appart. my drivers did not have an update after installing catalyst.

So in other words, i'm having a problem updating my drivers (with or without it as HD 6770).

It used to be a Win7 x86 Home premium. I upgraded it to a Win7 x64 Home premium .

Specs:
Hewlett-Packard HPE-501f
Microsoft Windows 7 x64 Home Premium
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor
4.0 GB DDR3 - 1333

I will attach more detailed of my tower.
Complete spec of tower (motherboard etc):

Have you tried downloading the drivers directly from ATI?

What I am wondering is if the biuilt-in ATI 4200 is not being updated. Even though it shouldn't matter.

Also the driver for the 5770/6770 does not include the driver for the 4200.
Maybe try installing the driver for the 4200 first(http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows 7 - 64)

Then try the driver for the 5770/6770 (http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows 7 - 64#amd-catalyst-packages)

Don't install any of the other stuff, just the driver in both cases.

In regards to ways to install the driver, try Safe Mode.

Hmm, well I actually don't see any build in integrated graphics card "Video graphics Integrated ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics *Integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed." <-- I don't think it's installed.
It only displays 1 display drivers as well. My motherboard does have AMD 785G though.

Yes, that's the specs of the computer! HPE-501F. I'm sure I don't have HD 4200 in this computer, I've checked the drivers. It's not built in/installed. I've tried the drivers for 5770/6770, seems to make my computer a mess.

Should I still try downloading the 4200 drivers? I'm sure there's no other display drivers that was installed though. The only display drivers is HD 5770 aka 6770.

Ok, that's a bit strange.

Are you ok with running msinfo32 and exporting the information?
