Can see shared folders, cannot see shared printer

I have a Sharp printer connected to a USB port on computer A (Windows 7 Ultimate). Computer A and B (Windows 7, Home Premium) are connected to the same router via ethernet cables. The Sharp printer and some folders on A are shared. Computer B can see the shared folders on A but it cannot see the shared printer. Thus, it cannot print to the Sharp printer. That defeats the purpose of sharing a printer.

What is wrong? How to cure the problem? Thanks.

So you "Turned on File and Printer Sharing" but did you also set the printer properties to "share the printer"? See Microsoft Printer Sharing.

And then on the other computer you have to "add the network printer" which includes installing the drivers for the printer.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes. Printer sharing is on. Other computers can see and print to it, just not this particular computer. "Add network printer" doesn't see the printer. I manually enter "\\pc-name\printer-name". Strange enough, printer is added but it is offline.

Could you try plugging the printer directly into Computer B just to make sure the drivers get installed and then return the printer to Computer A and see if it has any effect?
