Anyone know when IE10 will be available for Win7?

I know the pre-release version of IE10 for Win7 is available, but I've
come to mistrust pre-release versions (cause registry problems etc).

Does anyone have any info or even rumors about when the official
release version will be available?

Also, for anyone running the pre: Any notable problems? Is it
worthwhile?

I've been using it for a few weeks on Win7-64 system. It seems faster than
IE9, but I did run into one site telling me I needed a newer browser version
(!) to login. I can't remember which one it was, but I have Chrome and FF
installed, so never missed a beat.

No official word from MSFT on the RTM/RTW release date for IE10 on Win7.

I'm running IE10 on Win7 x64 with no problems. It does seem faster.

You're almost certainly running the pre-release version "rob" mentioned
above. I agree it runs perfectly with no problems.

I read one post that stated that IE 10 disables aero in windows. Is that
true?

I like my desktop with aero and don't want to lose it.

I am running Windows 7 HP SP1 with Aero. I have IE version
10.0.9200.16439 Pre-Release (KH2761465). Aero isn't affected.

With Windows 8, Aero isn't a feature or an option. It's
history.

I'm almost always against running pre-release versions of
anything--it's just looking for trouble--but this is a case where I
would make an exception. Since IE10 has been released for Windows 8,
the Windows 7 version can't be all that different or dangerous.

Didn't I see something like that on a headstone recently? :)

One of the comics I read online likes an occasional "famous last words"
strip. The cartoonist probably wouldn't much like the above, soI won't
submit it...Especially without your permission.

Anyway, I forgot which strip it is.

The only problem I had was when clicking on a PDF file link on a Website,
nothing would happen. PDF files as attachments and already saved open fine.
Gotta be able to open them up especially with tax time approaching. Back to
IE9 for now.

Truth to tell, I am paranoid about backup, and I am also a big
procrastinator.

Not the best combination for a stress-free life :)

Yesterday, by using ShadowExplorer, I did correct a mistake that lost a
file, though it would also have been available on any recent backup that
I actually *did* make.

That seems like a weak reason to avoid a specific version of a browser.
Wasn't it just a configuration that you needed to make, and failing that,
couldn't you just right click and download your pdf files?

IE10 RP/Win7 - 32 and 64 bit works fine here opening pdf links on a variety of web sites, financial, banking, and the IRS web site
(Forms in pdf format).

What pdf viewer is installed ?

FoxIt, Adobe X 10.1.5, and Adobe XI are function when set as the default viewer.
- all are configured to display in the PDF view window and not the browser

Sea Monkey 2.15.2 works too on Win7 (both 32/64 bit).

Thanks for the info. I like my aero and have no plans to upgrade to win 8.
Both my machines work perfect with win 7 and I see no reason to fix what is
not broken.

But glad to know IE10 is a future option if I want it.
