When I purchased this machine this sumer it came with a offer for a
free upgrade to Windows 7 when it was released. It is running windows
vista 64 bit at present. I have received notice that my upgrade has
shipped. I have seen some comments that people were having problems
with upgrades etc. Has any one done and upgrade on this unit and if so
were there any problems.
Thank You

Thank You
David--I upgraded my HP computer from the free disks they sent me and all
went well.
If Acer sends out an upgrade assistant disk along with Windows 7 DVD you
should be ok--HP also sent detailed instructions on how to do it.

If you just get the Win 7 DVD disk--google for some help.
You will need to download and run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and uninstall
anything not compatible with Win 7., also be sure your MS Security updates
are
current on you Vista as well as your antivirus program updates before you
start.
Good Luck.

Worn Out Retread

I installed via upgrade on my desktop and it was the most simple upgrade
that I could imagine. The install indicated that I should remove some
programs from the computer and I did. I even made a mistake and took out too
much but the install took care of that.

It takes quite a while for the installation so set aside a big block of time
just in case your installation takes as long as mine.

Good Luck
