59Hz Refresh Rate

Hello w7forums

Upon installing Windows 7 Beta 1 I had problems with my LCD monitor being out of range on its highest resolution, and after repeated trying suggestions on the web I couldnt fix this.

It's 2 months later and I have just been using Windows 7 at a lower resolution, but I would like to go back to what I know my monitor can support. It seems that it should be 60Hz at my highest resolution (from Vista) and not 59Hz like Windows 7 says.

Is there a way round this problem?

This is quite a common problem, but you don't say which type of graphics card you use? With the new beta nVidia drivers for Windows 7 you can force it to use the 60Hz refresh rate:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/windows_7.html

Go to the nVidia control panel > Display > Manage Custom Resolutions > Create

Then enter your custom settings, you can then force it to 60Hz. :)

Well it only seems like he need the correct graphic card driver, once he installs that he wont have to force the refresh rate..
