Is there a way to make "Windows Explorer" remember what network machines you have?

It only takes a second or two to find my XP machine most of the time,
but sometimes it takes much longer.

Is there a way to have a network computer stay on the explorer list?

There is some kinda recipe here, to create a "persistent network share".
Apparently, the author of this came up with this as a workaround
for a lack of properly functioning "normal" setup.
