Hi to any graphic designer out there,

As a security measure, Windows 7 has removed .wmf file format from its default list. Is there another way round to view WMF thumbnails in W 7? I'll appreciate an early response as I am unable to view my clip art files. Thanks

Qaiser

Hi and Welcome to the forums.
Have you tried making an association with a program? Go to Control Panel > Default Programs

Cheers,

Hi FC,

That was the first thing I tried, but unfortunately wmf is not among the programs list. Microsoft say they removed it from W7 because of the security threat this type of file carried.

WMF (or windows meta file format) is used in vector based graphics such as Cliparts and cartoons. I have found a third party application that helped. Thanks anyway.

Ok. Good.

What's the name of the software?

Don't forget to mark this thread as solved!

Hi Qaiser - Welcome to w7forums

It's better to post source links - http://www.irfanview.com/
Usually that is the only links that I will trust.

Hey catieblink! Welcome the the Windows 7 Forums website!

Nice little app there! Thanks for the heads up!

Plus it's available in both 32 and 64 bit versions... sweet!

Too bad it's not free though.
