text overlapping

Notice the weird way the text is overlapping. This has only taken place since I have reset IE9.

Just a hunch but, again here, try closing your favorites panel on the left and see if it corrects the problem. With only a limited amount of screen space it looks like they are trying to force pictures on the left side and with your favorites open they end up covering text.

TrainablMan - nope, that's really not the problem. Though I tried what you suggested, I knew beforehand that wasn't actually the snag. As mentioned, this only began when I reset IE9. Strange thing is, if I go into Tools / Internet Options / Advanced and say check off any of the first three things mentioned i.e. carat browsing, if I check it or uncheck it, the particular website referrred to shows up the way it should. As soon as I ok out of Internet Options, the site goes back to overlapping again. This is weird and wonderful.
If you've something else up your sleeve, please advise. Thanks!

What do you mean you "reset" ie9?

Personally I don't use IE, don't have favorites down the left, and I also block ads via my hosts files, so even when I open that page in IE9 all I see are red Xs where all that ad crap wants to be, but even on mine the red Xs do cover some of the picture on the right. So some of it is definitely related to how they designed the web page.

I'm beginning to think like you, this is a website problem. It seems to me now that the little computer in my head is rebooting, that I've had the joy of encountering this before. It's been a bit back, but the boys at the Jerusalem Post must have back then and again today, fell headlong into their keyboards. Appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

The problem is the site, not IE.

Since IE7, there is an option under tools to Reset IE. This removes all add-ons (corrupt and/or misbehaving add-ons is the most common cause of IE issues) and returns all IE settings back to the defaults.

Running IE without add-ons is an excellent start to troubleshooting rendering issues like this. If no help, then a Reset is the next step, easy to do, and often works (though resetting your browser will not fix a broken site).

When a web site has a programming issue, sometimes the fact that they need to program a little differently for one browser than another can mean that although it may be messed up in one browser, it may work perfectly fine in another. So if things appear odd in IE then use Firefox and visa versa.

I use IE9 on all my systems as my default. But I have Chrome or FF installed on all so if I cannot connect with IE or things appear odd in IE, I can double check to see if the problem is IE or the site by calling up the alternative browser.

This is definitely a Webpage issue. The Jerusalem Post is behaving itself rather nicely right now and has been since last evening. They've probably put one of the Iron Dome's around the place and consequently nothing is able to get through to disrupt their site.
