I want to stop task bar popping up when cursor gets near it. I usually work in full screen and the stupid task bar frequently gets in the way of whatever I'm trying to do near the bottom of the page.

What you want can't be done with any W7 settings but there is a program you can run which makes it so you have to hit Alt+T to have it appear. Taskbar Eliminator

I have installed and tried Task bar Eliminator and it works just fine. Thanks for the tip.
It's too bad Windows doesn't have a simple, built in way to do that.

Well you may like W8, from what I've seen, some people can't figure out how to get the taskbar to show at all once they start a program. It is due out later this year.
