System service exception and freeze

Hi my computer keeps freezing and show me the bsod System_Service_Exception. Got one today, but it didn't come to the minidump. Because it freezed while it was showing me the bsod. What is the problems?

These were caused by a memory exception. Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.


1-Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.




2-Driver verifier

If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Got some new minidump files. Which memtest should i downoad?

Which one?

To use Memtest you need to boot to it. So if you have an empty USB flash drive, I suggest the USB key auto installer as this is the easiest method. Otherwise the next best option is the bootable ISO (zip), which you can burn to a CD and boot to it that way. If you need help with either just ask.

Can i use virtual clone driver or some programs like that or do i need to burn it into a CD?

EDIT: Ok, so i done that with the verifier, and there came a BSOD and it was saying something about pxhlpa64.sys

As a Priority:

GEARAspiWDM.sys Mon May 18 13:17:04 2008 Gear Software CD-ROM Class Filter Driver v4.015.1 (Feb 2010). Also loads with iTunes

PxHlpa64.sys Thu Mar 13 01:58:17 2008 Sonic CD/DVD driver. Used by many different programs. If you recognise the program this is associated with and can update it, then it should take care of this driver.

For now, I'd suggest uninstalling Avira until your bsod issues are resolved.
Avira is known to be a cause of BSOD's on some Windows 7 systems.
Uninstall Avira through the Control Panel. Then run the Avira RegistryCleaner to clean up any remaining registry entries. Download BSOD friendly Microsoft Security Essentials as its replacement. Make sure Windows firewall is enabled!
