trying to use system restore. some apps open then close. when i open sys.re st.it only gives to dates. todays,and one from the 14 th. witch gives error below .i used it 2 wks a go and it seems like it had a calender with 4 other dates to pick from. this shows just 2 dates.i have 600+ free space. i have a dell580 750 g hd win 7 64 biti3 550.nero loads then crashes. so i cant back up any files.have hard time oping fire fox .internet explore won.t open,burn a way free will not run.is there a way to check how much space is allotted in sys re st hope you can help me on this.i don't want to do a reinstall. xbill

Start >> r-click (My) Computer >> Properties. On the left hand side click Advanced system settings >> System Protection tab >> Configure... button.

Have you tried running System Restore in Safe Mode? That usually works when it fails in Normal Mode.

i opened the configer button, it was set to 0 so i set it to 16% or 2 gig. i alos clicked the top option.. and clicked apply button. will this be alright .thanks for the reply.xbill
