Suggested sites

Every time I open a new site, another "Suggested sites" is added to the
tabs. Is there a way to stop or eliminate the function?

Will that really make a difference? Doesn't the same feature exist in
IE9?

Erm, ah, um, according to Ray, it looks like it doesn't exist in IE8.
It's in IE9, I checked before posting my update advice.

Well, according to ME, the option DOES exist in IE8, at least on the
Windows XP system I'm looking at right now.
