Strange Wireless Happening

I just returned from a trip. Using one of my netbook's, I had to sign
into the motel's network using IE 9 and enter a password. When I got
home, I was able to login into my home wireless, but got a popup from the
wireless icon in the tray that stated "additional login information may
be required and that I should open my browser".

I then logged into my network with another netbook (not taken on my trip)
and got the same popup.

I used Ccleaner on both which did not help.

Both netbook's are set to auto login, but I don't know where to remove
that option, so I have to reenter the password.

"Not to worry, I managed to fix it. For anyone else with similar problems,
you need to set up the network manually and select WEP (or WPA) and
then enter your key. Otherwise you get the funny prompt i mentioned."

So verify your Wifi setup again. Maybe the router is autodetecting something,
and the router end has changed ???

Thanks Paul. This morning the thing seems to be gone. I will check out
those links. I did reset my router, but why it happened on my second
netbook is really strange.

I suspect that the problem is local to your home, and only by
coincidence happened after the trip. I've had stranger coincidences.

That said, you might be wise not to believe me :-)

I may have figured it out on the netbook I traveled with. Outpost
Security Suite is set up to add lan IP addresses automatically. So maybe
it thought it was still active. Now deleted.
