Stereoscopic Gaming

Are there any other users here that play games in 3D using stereo glasses or autostereoscopic monitors?

I've not seen it mentioned on here yet, but thought it would be interesting to have a thread on it

I don't own such a configuration, but I was able to try it when NVIDIA introduced it at CES, and I was quite impressed. The technology looks very good, and it's easy on the eyes. The price sucks, though.

What sort did you try Thrax, was it using active shutter glasses or polarising ones?

I've used all three and found high end active shutter glasses pretty good (but I couldn't use them for long periods of time), whereas the polarising glasses worked great even for extended periods. High end autostereoscopic monitors are fantastic, but incredibly expensive (if they have active tracking).

Yes... the price... exactly why I don't have it...

The NVIDIA 3D Vision package uses high-speed LCD active shutter glasses, and it requires a 120Hz monitor so each lens/eye can receive a 60Hz image.

I'll have to keep my eye out for this package (no pun intended!). 60hz sounds quite comfortable

I wish I could justify getting one of these kits/monitors, but I don't think it would do my eyesight any good using it for gaming so much! The next few years are going to prove quite exciting for stereoscopic developments, as 3D TV isn't that far off now and will probably start to debut as soon as next year in some countries.
