I have a new pc that came with Windows 7 64-bit. I bought a new monitor that is compatible with this O/S (according to the compatibility check on the Windows 7 website). When I turn on the PC there is nothing on the monitor. I assume, it does not recognize it because the monitor goes in sleep mode. I'd call the tech support for the pc but they aren't open on weekends. I can't tell if windows is loading cause I can't see anything on the monitor.

Any suggestions?

Check the monitor to see if it has a "Source" button on the controls.

If it does, try pushing the button, it chooses between VGA and DVI input sources.

That may help.
