I don't understand? Are you saying there is an error window displayed or are you looking up that information from device manager or what? Is it just this one DVD or can it not read any DVD?
Sometimes DVD drives wear out and just need replaced which on a desktop only costs about $20 and 15 minutes of time to open the computer and take the face plate off, unscrew a few screws, slip it out, slip in the new one, reattach the cables, and close everything back up.
