I now have a 2nd 1TB Hard drive to go with the main 1TB Hard drive
I want to set up automatic backup, I have Nero 11 which has a backup
programme in it
but I cannot seem to tell it to use it, it is looking for an external drive?
Hopefully I can set it up to do the backup once a day so the drive does not
have to run all the time?
Desktop Computer system.
AMD Phenom (tm) II X 4 965 Processor 3.40 GHz
ASRock 96OGM- GS3 FX Motherboard
8GB DDR3 1333Mhz DRAM
ATI HD 5670 51MB GDDR5 DVI VGA HDMI Out Graphics
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64 bit Operating System

It's probably the nature of the program, to attempt to backup
all internal drives. You'd have to adjust the set of things to
back up (the source list), to only include one drive. Then use
the destination 1TB drive as your location for the backups. The
manual implies something like that is possible.

Thank you Paul,
After I took the 2nd Hard drive out of the list to
back up, it then let me select it as the derive to back up to.
Will see how it goes.
Mick.

It's a better strategy to back up to an external drive anyway.

If you lose the main drive due to an internal power glitch, a virus, a
fire, or theft, you're likely to lose the other as well.

The external drive might be spared, depending on what you do with it
while it's not in use.

And of course, Paul helped you with what you actually asked about :-)

Hi Gene,
I do back up to external drives too, but not as a continues
one keeping the latest change
but as complete backups of data that I have been glad to go back to when an
accident has happened.

The internal extra H Drive was something I hoped would be useful to have to
have a latest copy.

Just get a 1TB Seagate plug-in external HDD. I
just set up such a one for my sister and I used
the Win7 backup facility.

It runs on USB2 for data and power and is a bit
slow; but she just lets it run overnight.
