I need a 4GB SD card for my Garmin Satnav. All that I can find for online purchase are SDHC cards. Is there any difference please?

SDSC (Standard-Capacity) cards, typically called SD, have an official maximum capacity of 2 GB, though commercially available up to 4 GB.

SDHC (High-Capacity) cards have a maximum capacity of 32 GB.

Garmin saud I needed an SD card of 4 GB capacity to handle more map updates, and I want to buy the correct item. The Satnev is a Garmin nuvi265WT.

Just get yourself an SD or SDHC, I would go with the SDHC and get a Class 4 one too. Class 4 is rated at 4 MB/s

Does the Garmin specify any particular brand or Class?

They just said to get a 4GB SD card. No bigger as the device would not read it.

Check this one out at Amazon UK, it's 4.85 British Pounds with free shipping. Plus it's Kingston which makes very good quality SD memory cards.

Kingston Technology 4GB Secure Digital High Capacity Class 4 Card
