Screensaver on Windows 7 64 bit

Hello,

Often I find that my screensaver will not work because there is a program running in the background. I have traced this to a program I think is called 'countdown timer'. Sometimes it runs sometimes it doesn't. Any idea what this is or how I can get the screensaver to work properly?
