running win7 32bit on 64bit processor

i have just upgraded my PC hardware with 64 bit processor and i wonder if i install windows 7 32bit instead windows 64 would my PC run faster?
no matter what hardware or ram i have,!
In fact is my PC 64bit processor going to work faster with Windows 7 32 bit?

No the 32Bit will not run faster than the 64Bit.

Windows 7 32Bit will only take advantage of little over 3GB memory.
Windows 7 64Bit needs at least 2GB to run.

So the true question is if you plan to run more than 3GB memory in the machine?

thanks dude i am still confused with 32/64bit and i don't really know the advance of 64bit
when i got my PC from the Store i had XP 64 which was just flying.
that's why i doubted 32 i smaller less space memory etc... which would perform faster?

If you have 4GB of memory, install 64-bit. If you don't, get 4GB of memory and install 64-bit.

right now i have 2gb ram but def... i am going up to 4gb.

A wise decision. You'll find that x64 Windows 7 will rock on the 4GB of RAM. Like the other poster stated: "32bit is dead".

You have to reformat the computer to erase 32-bit, then reinstall the x64 version.

So you mean start over and reinstall the program and click 64?

The retail version of Windows 7 comes with two discs. One is the x86 (32 bit) version and the other is the x64 version. Use the x64 disc to install the x64 OS.

There is no option available during the install process, unless you're using a combined version you found on a torrent site or wherever.

Yes, start over and do a clean install of x64.
