How To Resume Sleep Mode w/Mouse or Keyboard?

How do I resume from Sleep Mode with a keystroke or mouse gesture rather than with the power button? Only the power button works.

Current Settings:

Control Panel/Power Options/Power Button/Shut Down

Device Manager/Mouse/Power Management "Allow this device to wake computer" (keyboard too)

If you already enabled the mouse/keyboard to wake the system from within Windows and it doesn't work, then make sure you also have it enabled from within the system's BIOS.

Sorry, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how to do that. Would you be able to break that process down it steps for me? I would greatly appreciate it!
