Restore Windows 7 from windows.old folder

I originally installed windows 7 x32 on my computer with a 64 bit processor. My computer was running slowly so I decided to just go ahead and reinstall windows with the 64b OS.

I didn't create an image before I installed Win 7 x64. I have a virtual machine with Win 7 x32 installed on it. I copied the windows.old folder to the virtual machine.

Is there a way to restore all of my programs and settings using the windows.old folder?
