Home premium doesn't allow RDP client connections to other machines.

Save yourself a lot of hassle and use TeamViewer.
It's free for personal use.
http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx
You download and install the full version - marked on the website as ' Start Full Version -It's
Free! '
Your client downloads the client exe - marked on the website as ' Join a Session '.
The client exe does not install any files, it's just run from the Desktop.

Some versions of Windows don't support Remote Desktop, so you need to
investigate which versions you have and whether RD is supported.

If there's a user at the remote machine, you can work around this by using
Windows Messenger or Windows Live Messenger, and having one party request
assistance.

There are 3rd party remote control systems if you specifically need a remote
desktop.

In any case, you may also have to forward ports on at least one router.

If the version of Windows doesn't support RDP, then you can install a
protocol called VNC which will allow all versions of Windows to see a
remote desktop. A good freeware version of VNC is TightVNC.
