Did you download the latest Windows 7 driver from the realtek site? :

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/

If so, which model sound card / onboard sound motherboard do you have?

At the Asrock website for your motherboard the Audio driver download is 95MB!

Here's what it shows:

Windows® 7 64bit 95.09MB Realtek / VIA Audio Driver

Realtek sound drivers are only about a 35MB size.

So apparently it's using a a hybrid driver of Realtek and VIA. Go HERE to download correct driver.

Also it's showing a BIOS update of 12-25-09. Looks like there has been 4 BIOS updates since Windows 7 was released.

It might be a good idea to do a BIOS update, if you're comfortable with it.

I hope all this will help you out!.

This is the BIOS update you would want to download. It's BIOS v2.0.

2.0012/25/2009Windows®562.13KBImprove stability of the system. Asia Europe USA

This is BIOS update you can run from Windows. Download it to the desktop and then un-zip it. In the folder will be an executable called "N68S_2.00" click on it to run it.

It may take up to 2 minutes to complete.

BE SURE not to power down while the update is going on. You will then be asked to reboot the computer.

Do that and press the delete key during startup to go to the BIOS and press the F9 key to load the Default settings.
