Is there a difference in the way the program gets launched? Check the
target properties of the taskbar icon and compare that with the way
you've set up the AutoHK shortcut. Maybe something will shake out.

Good advice. And if that doesn't reveal anything, AutoHotkey has a
WinActivate command. I haven't used that command myself, but from
the name it sounds like it would make the window active.

I'll have a look at that, it might well be the answer. It's such a long
complicated doc file I haven't read it all - many of the functions
aren't needed here anyway. Thanks for the tip.
