Hi,
As in header - - a little puzzled about the process.
I have a copy of wd7 "Ultimate" which was an upgrade from XP but lost the XP
copy (don't ask) so I could not use it on a new install
I then purchased a full copy of wd7 "Professional" and installed that and
contacted MS about upgrading this to "Ultimate" and they were really helpful
and I got it all upgraded.
I have the product key but my confusion is - -

When I install the original wd7 "Professional" onto my new ssd - - do I add
the "Upgraded" product key then or later after the wd7 "Professional" is
installed?
Sorry for being so dumb but does anyone have some answers
Thank you.
Stuart.

You can do a clean install with a upgrade dvd. You install it but don't
enter the key. Then you install again and enter the key on the second
install.

If you get a anytime upgrade, there is a place that asks if you have a
anytime upgrade key and a place to enter it.

Sorry if my reply is a bit out of order, but I couldn't get the original
post back.

Why not, if I may ask?

In Forte Agent > sample headers there is a check box for update record of
headers received. I had it checked. Unchecking it won't help. Don't know
of a way around it except to delete the group and start from scratch.

Just asked in the Agent group if there is a way.

I guess what I was wondering is, once you've downloaded the body of a
post, how did you lose it? It should be available unless/until you
purge or delete it, no?

Some news software (dunno if this includes Agent) has the ability to
"expire" news, i. e. delete posts a specified time after they were
received (or posted). This, if enabled, is usually automatic, running as
soon as the client is opened, and/or when it's closed, and/or
continuously in the background while it's open. Turnpike can set
different expiry times for each 'group taken, and I'd be surprised if it
was the only such.

Yes, I do purge often and sometimes get caught on the short end. The box
is unchecked now so should be ok.

I did it this way when I installed my ssd late last year. First while Windows is still on your old drive.install your ssd in sata port 1 and leave your current hard drive as 1st boot device. Set your hard drives to AHCI in the bios and start Windows. Now update the ssd's firmware from the manufacturer. Now restart your pc and go in the bios. Make your DVD drive the 1st boot device and the ssd the 2nd boot device. Unplug your cable for your internet connection or turn it's modem and your router off. Install Windows 7 on the ssd. but leave the product key empty. Once your in Windows type Power in the Start menu's search box and click on Power Options. Click on Hard Disk and set Turn Off Hard Disk to never, click Apply and OK. Plug your modem back in or turn it and your router back on. Reinsert the Windows 7 dvd and this time do a Upgrade Install, entering the product key when asked for it. Then update Windows, your drivers and re-run WEI (Windows Experience Index) by right-click Computer and clicking where it says something like No Rating Available. This step is important as this will enable Trim on your ssd. After that's done do a web search for SSD Tweaker and download the free version.right-click on SSD Tweaker and select Run As Administrator, now click on Auto Tweak Settings, close SSD Tweaker, click on No to the box that tries to sell you SSD Tweaker Pro and restart your pc. Your pc will now be setup ssd wise,

I use Agent, and yes, it does. You can also turn it off.

Agent also has this.

It strikes me as a fairly obvious option, and I would look
askance at a newsreader which did not have it.
