This error I'm getting is more of an annoyance than a sign of something I can fix. It just says 'failed to get object at index 0'. This pops up every so often with no apparent reason and doesn't seem to affect anything as no programs ever shut down or react to this error message.

How do I get this message to go away so I can concentrate on actual issues? Or is this an actual issue in disguise?

When I do a search I see a couple programs that have reported this, one is Spybot Search and Destroy and HxD Hex Editor.

I can only suggest if you use either of those programs that you uninstall them and then reinstall. (And if it is Spybot S&D, I always recommend disabling TeaTimer as it can cause issues.)
