I have been using IE8 with no problems except for an eternal Script error
message which I can't eliminate. I would like to have anyone's opinion
regarding IE9. Perhaps IE9 will run without interrupting almost every time
I open a different page.

Considering that you don't tell us anything about your script error,
and that nobody else has such a general problem, as far as I know...
I'd say that there's no way to guarantee that you won't have problems.
Actually, I predict that if you have problem now, you will still have
it with IE9. Upgrading is rarely a good way to fix existing problems.

IE9 can supposedly be uninstalled if you want. I'd make some good
backups before I tried.

I don't use it regularly, but I haven't had any particular problem with
IE8 or -9.

I agree with the advice above and can add that removing IE9 is quick
and painless. I've done it on multiple PCs without any issues at all.
These people had been running IE8 and allowed the automatic* upgrade
to IE9, then decided they didn't like IE9 for various reasons.
Uninstalling it left them with IE8 again.

*IE9 seems to get included in the midst of other Windows Updates, so
it's easy to miss and easy to accept.

Ditto to all of the above, *especially* "Upgrading is rarely a good
way to fix existing problems." Upgrading when you have problems more
often worsens the problems than fixes them.

Make a backup, then try this.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...rer-8-settings

Settings that are reset ... Security settings for all zones (Security tab)
to Windows, manufacturer,
Internet provider,
or corporate defaults

HTH,
Paul
