put laptop to sleep

is there a program that will put my pc to sleep when the battery is low. cause im afraid my pc will become damaged. ther is no setting that does this in my power settings.

i have a hp dv6 on windows7 home premium

here is more specs if it helps. i try to keep my battery plugged in til it fills up, then i like to disconnect it til its almost depleted, then plug it back and so on and so forth. that way my battery stays healthy. but sometimes i forget to plug it back in and it just dies. i wish it would let me know with a sound or a notice or something.
