Go to this link for the latest driver which is dated 5-25-2010, this is for the 64 bit version of Windows 7:

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx?type=2.4.2&product=2.4.2.3.30〈=us&rev=10.5&ostype=Windows%207%20-%2064-Bit%20Edition

Here's the link for the 32 bit version of Windows 7:

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-32.aspx?type=2.4.2&product=2.4.2.3.30〈=us&rev=10.5&ostype=Windows%207%20-%2032-Bit%20Edition

I hope this helps, also be sure to uninstall any previous ATI video drivers before installing this new updated driver which is version 10.5, also be sure to install the Catalyst Control Center too, that will help you configure the graphics card better.

You might also want to install the ATI Avivo Package which is at the very bottom of the pages.

Hi.

Do you get any blue screens? It sound like a 0x116 stop error to me and there can literally be tens of reasons why this could happen, including heat related.

Please check C:\Windows\Minidump for .dmp files. If there are, copy them to another folder and then rar or zip them. Attach to a post using the paperclip above where you type. I can then look at things like this for suggestions.

0x116 errors are difficult to diagnose, but not impossible.

Hello ovris,

It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibilty.)
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".
There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/default.aspx
In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!
As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.
