Problem with ma Laptop touchpad

I am (Anthony), that is antfortimstony...I am new here.

I had problems with my laptop touchpad, that is difficulty in scrolling and also the sensitivity. I downloaded and installed the Synaptic touchpad driver but it is not working properly. I went to the control panel and clicked on the mouse and checked on the hardware and devices. Instead of getting Synaptics, I saw PS/2 compactibility mode and HID compactibility mode without see the Synaptics so I think the driver that I installed wasn`t the right on for my Laptop..... The name of my Laptop is Compaq Presario CQ 50-115NR Notebook PC........The operating system that I use is window 7.
Please can somebody help me with a solution?

I am running a dell and to solve some of my problems with drivers. I downloaded the latest drivers and it solved my problem. I did use a different driver for my wifi. It was one of theres.

uninstall the Synaptic touchpad driver and then download and install this versionSynaptics Touchpad Driver
