[SOLVED] Problem installing, missing hard drive?

No, you're not hijacking the post. Windows 7 works extremely well in RAID. Since RAID is configured to read multiple drives as "one" drive, there are no issues.

Now I may be wrong here, but for me, every time I have tried to install Windows 7 with my secondary hard drive connected to the motherboard it won't install to the partition I normally use on the primary drive.

I don't know why this occurs, but when other people here have had issues like this then I tell them what happened with my setup. They disconnect the second hard drive by temporarily unplugging the drive from the motherboard and then all is fine with the install.

If Thrax or Ian or c_c know why this occurs, it would be great to hear their opinions.

All I know is that it works. Silly bug in my opinion.

Good the hear you got it installed and working. My bad for not thinking of that, the last laptop I had used an IDE drive in it. I hope I didn't send you on a wild goose chase.

I didn't realize that SATA drivers were needed to install Windows 7 to a laptop.

My desktop system doesn't require the SATA drivers during the installation process even though I use SATA hardware now.
