Hi Steve, welcome to the forums.

Which country are you based in and what specifications do you want the printer to have? For example, does it matter if it's an inket or laser, high/low volume, scanner/fax included?

I'm sure we can provide some ideas if you let us know what you want the printer for and the budget in mind

stevem, welcome to the forums! If you live in the US, printers run as low as $39, depending on what you're looking for. You don't actually have to have the same brand of printer, just one that is compatible with Windows 7. There will usually be a marking on the box saying so. HP has a large selection of printers to meet any budget. And there are others, too. I'm still running my 2004 model Dell 720 Photo Printer, the inks are cheap (something else to consider) and it is simple for me to use. The only things I print are online purchase receipts and emails. You'll find something.

For simple text printing, I highly recommend a laser printer over ink/bubble jet. I've had several inkjet printers over the years and mostly only printed text, yet went through the refill tanks like crazy. My laser printer, that I've had almost a year, has yet to run through even one toner cartridge.

Hi stevem

My first thought is 1. How much do you want to spend on a printer ? 2. What do you want to print ?

For a really good B&W laser printer, you can't go wrong with Samsung. Check out this one at Newegg for $99 & Free shipping.

For inkjet I personally like Epson, but that's an opinion.
